But what leads young people to such acts? The causes of youth violence are complex and range from violence in the family to group constraints to unstructured leisure behavior. The police-advice center that children and adolescents are often disproportionately victims of violence. Often it is not only isolated incidents, but part of a major problem of school violence.

To counteract this, the police launched the "anti-bullying program", which is implemented in schools. This program relies on a good school and class climate and aims not only to protect students, but also to achieve the perpetrators. Various strategies are used that include not only teachers, but also parents and classmates.

Early intervention is crucial in violence prevention. The approach includes numerous measures, including better breaks, teacher training and rules of conduct in order to promote peaceful coexistence. The family also plays a key role here.

In view of the current events, it is clear that both society as well as schools and parents are challenged to steer young people on the right track and to preserve them from the spiral of violence.
