Erasmus+: Italian students enthusiastic about digital school in Feldkirch!

After a corona-related break, the commercial academy and commercial school (HAK HAS) Feldkirch has now again recorded participation in the Erasmus+program. From May 12 to 16, 2025, an Italian group of school from the "Marie Curie" high school in Meda near Monza attended the educational institution in Vorarlberg. The exchange is in line with the aim of supporting young people through the promotion of social inclusion and digital education. vol.at reports that the group consisted of 10 students: inside and 2 teachers.

The Vorarlberg students: Inside and their Italian guests had the opportunity to treat topics such as artificial intelligence, big data and internet of things in Italian and English in a lesson. The Italian students were surprised by the high degree of digitization at the HAK HAS, especially with regard to the use of cell phones and laptops in class, which is not practiced in Italy - digital devices are only used at home.

insights into the history of the region

The visit program was diverse and also included historical aspects of the region. The group was allowed to visit the Schattenburg and the Historical Werdenberg and take part in the Virtual.History.tour in Feldkirch. An exciting detail that the pupils learned: Johann Peter Josef Leone was once the mayor of Feldkirch at the time of Empress Maria Theresia. In addition, the role of the Milan Bote was discussed as an important courier service between Lindau, Feldkirch and Milan in the Middle Ages. Such historical connections offer an interesting context for the current efforts to participate in social participation and education.

The planned return visit in Lombardy in autumn will not only strengthen bilateral relationships, but also promote intercultural exchange. This type of mobility is central to the Erasmus+program, which is supported by the European Union and whose budget is scheduled for 2021-2027 to EUR 26.2 billion. Erasmus+ himself attaches particular importance to social inclusion and digital change in order to actively participate in young people in Europe.

Future of education in focus

The successes of the Erasmus+program are not only shown at the HAK HAS in Feldkirch. Schools across Europe are also increasingly participating in international projects to enrich the formation of students: inside. Schools such as the comprehensive school in Sachsenheim rely on sustainability with projects such as "GreenTravel" that leads juniors on bike tours throughout Europe and promotes exchange about topics such as democracy and human rights. erasmusplus offers many opportunities to sensitize young people to these topics.

The resumption of Erasmus+exchange at the HAK Has in Feldkirch once again shows how important it is to promote education across national borders. When it comes to the future of training and the integration into a digitized world, the school clearly has a good hand here.
