Discover the most beautiful weekly markets in the Lake Constance region!

in the Lake Constance region, one of the most important growing areas for fruit and vegetables in Central Europe, local markets are booming like before. These markets are not only a freestyle for the senses, but also a strongly frequented point of contact for fresh, regional products. On Tuesday, June 9, 2025, six particularly attractive markets in the region invite visitors to be surprised by the variety of offers.

A weekly highlight is the traditional weekly market in Wangen, which takes place every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the historic old town. Here visitors find a fabulous selection of products at prices that are more than fair compared to other regions. Langenargen, on the other hand, offers fresh fruit and vegetables on the water promenade on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., whereby everything that comes from abroad is left out. This usually does not overflow the market and the quality is in the foreground.

variety in the markets

Every Saturday, Montfortstrasse in Tettnang turns into a pulsating marketplace from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. There are not only fresh vegetables and fruit, but also fish and meat products that round off the offer. A smaller market on Tuesday morning complements the action. In Ravensburg, a market in the old town is organized on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., which has some new concepts for Corona. Despite protests, this market remains one of the most popular in the region.

Lindau has also made a name for itself: Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the market next to the island hall offers a colorful range of cheese, fish, juices and other delicacies. Dornbirn, on the other hand, enchants visitors on Wednesday and Saturday with about 60 stands on the central market square. Not only are you bought here, but these markets are also a sociable hustle and bustle, especially on Saturday.

initiatives to strengthen the extension

Modern approaches such as the use of VR glasses for immersive crop experiences through Mediaapes from Neustadt show how innovation and tradition can go hand in hand. These new possibilities could soon be used in fruit and vegetable departments of food dealers and raise even more people to the topic.

The data show that fruit and vegetables play a central role in human nutrition. According to the German Nutrition Society (DGE), five portions should be on the menu every day. In Germany, the growing regions for fruit can not only be found in the Lake Constance area, but also in the old country near Hamburg or in the Vorifel. In this country, the degree of self -supply in the fruit area is around 23%, while it is about 36% for vegetables. The processing and the cultivation remain of central importance and contribute significantly to the turnover of agriculture.

With such initiatives and a strong focus on regional products, the markets in the Lake Constance region are not only a scene for fresh goods, but also an important part of future food supply. Have a look, maybe your palate will also discover a new favorite product!
