Dornbirn becomes a basketball stronghold: Streetball action at the weekend!

Dornbirn, Österreich - What's new in Dornbirn? On Friday morning, the marketplace was transformed into a true basketball mecca. A saddle tractor rolled with special floor, a basketball basket and LED gangs, supported by around 15 helpers who worked hard on the structure. This exciting redesign is part of the Alpha Romeo 3 × 3 tour, which for the first time stops in the city. According to Vol.at on Saturday and Sunday becomes the stage for gripping Streetball games.

at 3 p.m. the first of numerous duels begins on Saturday, followed by the final, which is scheduled for 10:20 p.m. A total of twelve teams, including the Dornbirn Peartrees, compete to win the tournament victory. The special thing: entry for all basketball fans is free! The event that runs under the name Markt Madness is part of the official 3 × 3 Alfa Romeo Austria Tour and promises high-class sport.

This tournament is not only intended for the professionals. An open tournament for hobby players will take place on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. This should also give basketball fans a way to demonstrate their skills. Dornbirner President Timur Bas is looking forward to the positive response to this event, which also aims to promote the young basketball and team spirit in the Vorarlberg area.

The course of the tournament stipulates that the participants are initially divided into groups. Each team plays against the others in their group before the best two move into the quarter -finals. The points that are collected are crucial because they flow into the qualification for the grand finale in Gmünd, which takes place on August 9th. The first twelve teams collect between 100 and 60 points, depending on the placement .

The 3 × 3 tournaments in Austria are an important part of the international basketball process. This year the Fiba 3 × 3 World Tour in Vienna will celebrate a premiere. From 2025 we can look forward to a Masters tournament in which teams from all over the world will take part, including the local team Vienna. Like Basketball Austria be at home, but also for the spectators who can look forward to exciting games and an all -round successful festival. Vienna will become the central point of contact for basketball fans from 2025.
