New elementary school Bludenz: Future of education takes shape!

Bludenz, Österreich - The extension of the Mitte elementary school in Bludenz takes on a quick shape and brings a breath of fresh air to the city's school environment. Today, on 30. May 2025 , with the progress of the work, the vision for a modern and future -oriented educational institution becomes tangible. The accurately prepared external work are in full swing, including the asphalting work on the forecourt, where the left side is already completed.

The first classrooms inside are ready for the students, as Mayor Simon Tschann emphasized during a recent visit. He underlined the importance of education and the need to invest in the future, while construction work has been carried out for two years. It is particularly gratifying that the reduction of the provisional container school and the first party were successfully completed last year.

The construction project in detail

The new building is designed by architect Bernhard Marte and offers a spacious room concept that connects tradition and modernity. This is how the project includes:

• 6 classrooms
• 4 individual funding rooms
• 2 group rooms
• 2 marketplaces for project -oriented learning
• a large library
• a room for lunch care
• a gymnastics room

bright rooms with large roof windows create a friendly learning environment, while Bernhard Corn, City Councilor for Education, highlights the creation of a pleasant environment for children. The work is currently concentrating on the completion of the entrance area and the creation of a new access via Schillerstrasse, which is opened after Pentecost.

After moving the classes in the new building, adaptation work in the historical old building follow. Among other things, the redesign of work and music rooms as well as technical modernization are planned here. The old wardrobe will not be forgotten either, it is used as a workroom.

a project of great importance

The groundbreaking for this comprehensive construction project was set two years ago and has a construction sum of around 22 million euros , which makes it the largest building project in the city of Bludenz. The building allocation went to the regional company Tomaselli Gabriel Bau GmbH, whose managing director Barbara Tomaselli was among the invited guests at the groundbreaking ceremony, together with numerous other personalities from politics and education, including state vice president Monika Vornier and folk school director Manuela Schmidle. The Mitte elementary school has opened its doors since 1886 and has now reached its capacity limit, which makes this new building all the more important.

The complete completion of the project is planned for the beginning of the school year 2025/26, with a ceremonial opening, which with an open day on 10. October 2025 . In autumn, plantings of trees outdoors are also intended, which further upgrades the entire school premises.

This project is not only a step to improve the educational infrastructure in Bludenz, but also a sign of the future -oriented development of the city and its children.
