Bludenz starts sustainable local heating project - information event on June 13th!
The city of Bludenz mixes vigorously when it comes to the sustainable heat supply in the region. Together with the agricultural community of Bürs and Illwerke VKW, an ambitious energy project is being implemented. The plan provides for the construction of a local heating heating plant that is intended to supply large parts of Bludenz. This project will rely on biomass and will also use the waste heat of the Lünersee power plant II in the future in order to make the energy supply sensible and environmentally friendly. Current information on this project can be found at VKW .
A big step towards sustainable heat supply will be accompanied by two presentation dates at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 13, 2025. Here interested parties have the opportunity to ask questions to Illwerke VKW and the project managers. The energy market in Bürs will also be particularly exciting on June 14, 2025, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Bürs middle school. These events offer an excellent opportunity to find out more about the local heating project.
location and feasibility
The location of the new heating plant, which is to be built on the site of the former cement plant in Lorüns, was decided in May by the Bludenz city council. A building law contract has already been signed with the property owner. In the feasibility study on the project, it was particularly important to attract larger heat consumers such as public and semi -public buildings. This includes, for example, the State Hospital, which has expressed interest in a connection to the new district heating network.
So that the local heating network can continue to grow, the owner of the owners of several objects in the affected streets is of great importance. A "dense" connection option ensures that the basic structure of the heating network between the heating center and large heat consumers remains stable. It is all the more important to communicate the advantages of local heat supply, because the connection to such a network can contribute to energy autonomy. The region could not only become more environmentally friendly, but also more independent of external energy sources.
The transported thermal energy per running meter of heating is considered crucial for the feasibility of the entire project. Therefore, it remains to be seen how quickly and comprehensively the connection options are perceived by the owners. However, the course for a sustainable future has already been set.
