15-year-old has an accident in Schwaz: moped crashed into concrete cubes!

In the past few hours there have been two serious accidents with mopeds in Tyrol, which focus on security in road traffic again. On Saturday evening, June 1, 2025, an accident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. in Reutte, in which a 15-year-old young person came off the road with his 13-year-old socia. Both suffered indefinite injuries and were immediately taken to the Reutte hospital with rescue workers. A few hours later, at around 1:05 a.m., there was another incident in Schwaz when the moped of the same young person crashed into a concrete cube. The exact circumstances that led to this accident are still unclear, but the 15-year-old was admitted to the Schwaz hospital with a serious leg injury.

The accident statistics are alarming: as reported by large shooters Kleine, and an annual crash in Austria between 15 and 16 years with the moped. It is frightening that eight of them have a fatal accident. In particular, the months of May and June seem to be dangerous for young moped drivers, because accidents are increasing here. This could also be due to the fact that every second moped accident will happen within the first two months after the driver's license test.

security deficiencies and information necessary

The statistics show that 90 percent of the accidents are individual falls, with a third of the affected young drivers seriously injured. There is an urgent need for improved training opportunities, because the association big shooters Kleine demands an expansion of the driving experience in moped training. The tendency that many moped drivers attribute their causes of the accident to non -adapted speeds proves the need for more education and training.

It is also astonishing that 90 percent of the young people consider their driving skills well, but only very few wear suitable protective equipment. While helmets are mostly used, other protective clothing is rarely found. This could be another factor for the high injury rate, because according to the figures of the University Hospital Graz, 34.5 percent of the injuries are classified as serious, with legs and feet often affected.

With the right preparation and active cycling training, however, a sensible contribution to avoiding accident could be made. According to [TT] (https://www.tt.com/artikel/30909724/15-jaehriger-in-moped-against-concretewuerfel-hafen-Schwer-Schwer-Schwer-Schwer-Schwer-Schwer, there have also been falling number of accidents, which has been achieved in training through mandatory practical exercises. A comprehensive concept for traffic, security and risk education is urgently required to further increase the security for moped drivers, especially for young people.
