Tragic hike accident in Tyrol: woman falls 80 meters into death
In a tragic incident in the Tyrolean Alps, a 43-year-old woman from Germany lost her life on May 29, 2025. The group, consisting of four hikers and two dogs, was on its way to the Grießbachalm when the accident occurred. According to 5min it happened as a dog suddenly ran towards a steep slope.
The woman hurried afterwards and lost the hold. She tried to sitting down the slope, which was extremely slippery due to wet grass and a climb of 42 degrees. Tragically, she plunged around 80 meters and overturned several times, which ultimately led to her death. The alarmed emergency helicopter crew was only able to determine the death of the woman on site.
