Unforgettable sounds: reading of the Mozarts with a concert in Lienz!
Lienz, Österreich - in Lienz will take place on Monday, December 8, 2025: the reading of Fritz Karl and his son Aaron Karl, who is dedicated to the correspondence between Leopold Mozart and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It starts at 7:00 p.m. and visitors can look forward to insights into the cultural and mental life of the famous family of musicians. As reports Dolomitenstadt, the string quartet "Sonare" will accompany the reading.
It becomes particularly moving to feel the deep family ties that are shown to his father in Mozart's address. He describes Leopold both as "my very favorite dad" and "Mon Très Cher Père". These tender words give an impression of the intimate relationship between father and son. Mozart also describes himself as a "obedient son" in his letter, which further illustrates the family dynamics.
cultural treasure of the Mozart letters
The correspondence of the Mozart family is seen as a significant cultural treasure that gives fascinating insights into the everyday life of this family of musicians. According to Clariah, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's correspondence and his father Leopold are a valuable source of information on Mozart's history and the European music history of the 18th century. Most of the original letters are archived in the Bizartiana Mozartiana Foundation Mozarteum Salzburg and comprise about 200 pieces by Wolfgang and around 300 by Leopold.
These letters have been published in a total edition of Wilhelm A. Bauer and Otto Erich Deutsch since 1962. This not only fills the gaps in the historical picture, but also supplemented and edited with excerpts. The texts are prepared in diplomatic transcription and often supplemented by scans of the original documents.
