Advice for people with disabilities: Voice day in Lienz on June 13th!
On Friday, June 13, 2025, an important consultation day of the Tyrolean War victim and disabled association (KOBV) takes place in the city laboratory Lienz. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., those affected have the opportunity to take advantage of individual and confidential consultations. Karl J. Zabernig, the state managing director, will be on site and provide extensive information on rights, claims and support offers for people with disabilities, as East Tyrol today.
The KobV has established itself as the largest advocacy in Austria and represents well over 33,000 members. Their guiding principle "we move" illustrates the commitment to put the rights and needs of people with disabilities in the foreground. This is done not only through individual advice, but also through influence on political decision -makers and the cooperation on important legislation, including the Disabled Administration Act and the Nursing Medical Act. Interested parties can be found directly on the website of the KobV.
Individual support for those affected
The speaking day in Lienz is aimed at people who are dependent on support due to chronic illnesses, consequences of accidents or age -related restrictions. The association offers help for diabetics: inside, wheelchair users: inside, senior: inside and many other groups of affected groups. The services offered also include free legal advice on disabilities, with the first consultation provided at no costs, while a reduction of 35 % applies to further representations.
The goal of KOBV is to promote a self -determined, inclusive and need -oriented life. This not only includes the legal area, but also practical support in different situations, be it in terms of discrimination, rehabilitation or start -ups. Personal advice from volunteers is important: inside, who are regularly available in almost 240 local and district groups.
inclusion and equal opportunities
A central concern of KOBV is the inclusion of people with disabilities in all areas of life. An estimated over 650 million people with a disability live worldwide, many remain excluded from access to education, work and social participation. The UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities, which came into force in 2008, places the basics of equality and accessibility, as well as on the platform [stage for human rights] (https://buehne-fuer-menschenrechte.de/ Inclusion-und-chichten-fuer-minschen-mitenen/).
The challenge of reducing barriers remains. In many areas - from the labor market to political say - a comprehensive social effort is necessary to really live equal opportunities. With its initiatives, the KobV wants to contribute to improving the physical, psychological and social state of its members.
For those interested, registration is required on the day of speaking. This can be done by phone on +43 664 348 84 84 (Monday to Thursday, in the morning). Our concern is that nobody falls down due to their disability and everyone receives the support they or she needs.
