1945 - resistance Alpine fortress: Theaterverein Ried inspires in the open air!

In Ried in the Oberinntal, the open-air theater piece "1945-Resistance Alpine Fortress" is listed, which tells a gripping story from the last years of the war. The Theaterverein Ried brings this piece to the stage, which was written by Michael Schmid . The premiere takes place on July 12, 2023 - exactly 80 years after the historical events that form the basis for the action.

The piece unfolds over two acts and has a playing time of a good two hours, without a break. With 19 actors: It is a big project inside that was implemented in cooperation with the theater groups from Kauns as well as Ladis and Grins. Under the overall management of Michaela Kofler and the direction of Michael Schmid, who has been a theater author since 2018, the ensemble has been rehearsing intensively since Easter.

the action

The story revolves around Forest Master Vitus, who returns on the front after a stay -related stay. Rumors about his alleged demoralization of soldiers accompany his way home. Despite these false accusations, Vitus succeeds in returning his position-a not easy undertaking, since a local Nazi local group leader has undermined his authority. At a time when the strategically important burner route is bombarded, Vitus sees itself faced with increasing pressure by the Nazi regime.

The organization Todt has already built forced labor camps and plans to use the strategic location in Upper Court as a "Alpine fortress". Vitus realizes that the war is coming to an end and that the impending destruction of the Pontlatz Bridge would bring great mischief across the region. Together with allies, including a judge and a gendarmerie-superior lieutenant, he founds a resistance group with the aim of arresting the Nazi leadership and saving the bridge-a company that is associated with enormous risks.

more details

The piece is not only alive through the exciting plot, but also by a large number of well -known actors: inside like Matthias Schranz and Daniela Buchhammer, who will captivate the audience. The upcoming performances are already well booked, with appointments in the summer months of July, August and September. If you are interested, you can reserve the tickets at www.ried1945.at

The premiere not only brings a story back to the stage that shows what was possible in dark times, but also proves to be valuable reminders. While the preparations for the performances are in full swing in Ried, it becomes clear how much the theater has interwoven with politics over the years. In the past, the National Socialists had a major impact on the theater that they wanted to use for their propaganda, which the artist often only left the choice between adaptation and emigration. These aspects are also important to understand the cultural background in which the present piece plays, as described by Theater-info
