Summer sports day in Innsbruck: Fun for the whole family at the Baggersee!

Innsbruck, Österreich - in Innsbruck it remains sporty! On June 14th, the gates on the 22nd summer sports day at the quarry lake are wide open. Under the motto "moves by the lake", the city of Innsbruck invites the citizens to discover the diverse sports offers from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and already over 15 sports stations are being planned, which offer both small and large sports enthusiasts a wide range of activities.

Special attention is paid to a colorful program that ranges from climbing tower to canoeing to a circus tent. Appropriate offers are also provided for older generations with age -appropriate stations and professional guidance. Mayor Johannes Anzengruber emphasizes the great importance of sport in public space and underlines that movement plays an important role in the quality of life for all citizens.

a festival for young and old

The summer sports day is not only fun for the whole family, but also the opening event for the series "Moving in the Park", which will take place in Innsbruck's parks from June to September. Here the participants expect free movement units that can be visited regardless of the weather and without prior registration. Weekly courses are planned under professional guidance that are suitable for all age groups and fitness levels.

The wide range of sports offers ranges from yoga to slackline to kick and thai boxing. There is also a lot of value with regard to the topic of inclusion: people with disabilities are also cordially invited to take part. The employees of the Tyrolean Disabled Sports Association offer support that enable close cooperation with the organizers.

sustainability in focus

Another highlight of the event is this year's orientation as a "green event". Attention is paid to environmental awareness, with a focus on climate -friendly meals and waste avoidance. Interested parties are encouraged to travel by public transport. This ecologization builds on current developments in sports behavior and demographic changes that require a modern infrastructure for sport and exercise in public space.

sport is not only a leisure activity, but also a central part of the life of many people. Studies show that the municipalities in Austria, such as Innsbruck, make a decisive contribution to promoting sports by wearing around 80 percent of overall public expenditure in sports. The event at the Baggersee and the other offers in the parks illustrate the city's commitment to create a wide and sustainable range of sports that is accessible to everyone and increases the quality of life.

The 22nd summer sports day at the Baggersee and the subsequent events are not only an innovative example of municipal sports funding, but also a platform to celebrate the variety of sports in Innsbruck. So if you feel like movement and community, you should mark the red on June 14th in the calendar - the sport calls!
