Innsbruck, Österreich - On June 4, 2025, the heat action day took place in Innsbruck, an important event at which the city administration presented measures to combat summer heat and to promote a future of climate silver. A jury assessed these suggestions for effectiveness, feasibility and costs. Many of these ideas flowed directly into the heat action plan. As a reward, two winners each received a ticket for the north chain tracks, an initiative that not only rewarded commitment, but also stimulates active participation. The implementation of the ideas should begin in summer.
The heat action plan is a dynamic document that will be evaluated in autumn 2025 to ensure that the measures are still effective and targeted. The heat action day should take place annually in the future in order to further raise awareness of the challenges of climate change in the population.
