First step towards self -employment: cycling test for Tyrolean children!
Innsbruck-Land, Österreich - What is going on in Tyrol? For many boys and girls, the cycling test, which is offered especially for the fourth school level students, is the first step into self -employment in road traffic. The exam, which has been carried out by the Mobile Youth Transport School in Tyrol since 1976, is very popular. Around 7,000 children take part every year and thus take their first big step into the world of cycling.
This test is not only an important milestone for young cyclists, but also contributes to traffic safety in Tyrol. After passing the test, the test subjects under the age of 12 can take part in road traffic without accompaniment. Education Councilor Cornelia Hagele emphasized how important the bicycle ID card is for the independence and the awareness of the children. Traffic Councilor René Zumtobel was convinced of the program, which is supported by the cooperation between Land Tyrol, Education Directorate, Police and the Youth Red Cross Tirol during a visit to the AMPASS and Tulfes elementary schools.
integrated training and security aspects
Preparation for the voluntary cycling test is comprehensive and versatile. The children learn the most important traffic signs, priority rules and the safe transportation in road traffic. In addition, their rights and obligations are conveyed as cyclists and reactions are trained on dangerous situations. This content is crucial in order to optimally prepare the young cyclists for the challenges in road traffic, as the Jugendrotkreuz Youth Red Cross platform emphasizes. Participation is possible from the age of 9 and visiting the 4th school level.
In order to further increase the safety of the participants, the Mobile Youth Transport School Tirol receives support from the traffic safety fund of 12,500 euros for the purchase of 21 new bicycles. This shows that in Tyrol not only emphasized the preservation and promotion of traffic safety, but also take concrete steps to improve the infrastructure for the exams.
an important step into self -employment
The cycling test is not just a simple test; It also symbolizes a transition. For many children, it is the first “driver's license” that allows you to use your bicycles independently in road traffic. The exam includes two training sessions that take place twice a year - in spring and autumn - all over Tyrol. Consistently tailored to the needs of the children, the cycling test not only is fun, but also conveys important knowledge that you will accompany for a lifetime.
It should be noted that the voluntary cycling test in Tyrol is a valuable event that not only promotes children's mobility, but also significantly increases its safety in road traffic. The pride of having the first "driver's license" in your pocket will certainly remain unforgettable for many children, and that is finally one of the happy memories for a whole generation.
