Rescue workers practice in Innsbruck: scenarios for emergencies!
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, a large -scale exercise took place in Innsbruck, which attracted over 100 emergency services. The aim was to be prepared for different emergency scenarios in the best possible way. The event was supported by 17 authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS), all of which worked to improve their skills in cooperation and thus to ensure a safe environment for the population. According to Meinverzirk a total of 37 realistic practice scenarios were carried out.
The exercise included a carbon monoxide alarm in a elementary school in Neuarzl as well as scenarios with crashed forest workers in rum and two paragliders in the Inn. The focus was on everyday emergencies that are often challenging and can also take place in remote places. "We want to ensure that all authorized people act effectively and coordinated in an emergency," emphasized a person responsible for the exercise.

The participating organizations consisted of a large number of renowned rescue, auxiliary and emergency services, including the mountain rescues Innsbruck and Hall, Johanniter Tirol, Malteser Tyrol, the Red Cross Innsbruck and Hall, as well as the Innsbruck water rescue. Several voluntary fire brigades, such as those from Mühlau, Neuarzl, Reichenau, Rum, Wattens and Hall, were also actively involved in the exercise. In addition, the ÖBB operations supported the campaign to make the scenario as realistic as possible, such as Website of the Federal Ministry of Interior - contribute to improving the disaster handling.
Overall, the implementation of these exercises underlined how important a close cooperation between the various emergency services is.
