Granite Marathon and Austria Youngsters Cup: A weekend of success in Kleinzell!

Kleinzell im Mühlkreis, Österreich - Last weekend, more precisely on June 7th and 8th, it was time again: the Granit Marathon href = "https://www.meinbezirk.at/voitsberg/c-sport/granit-marathon-austria-yters-cup-in-kleinzell_a7371287"> Austria Youngsters Cup took place in Kleinzell in the Mühlkreis. The event can be booked as a complete success, not least thanks to the numerous participants, including the talented athletes of the Crazy Cross Biker team from Maria Lankowitz.

Saturday was all about the young cyclists. The participants contested a technology sprint in the morning, followed by a cross-country competition (XCO) in the afternoon. The young talents show their skills in the different age groups. The success in the U11 class was particularly gratifying: Matteo Godin secured first place, while Martin Eberhart came 9th. The U9 class also brought medal results. Here Vera Eberhart achieved third place among the girls and Lean Ofner ended up fourth in the boys.

The services in the higher age groups can also be seen. In the U15 class, Thomas Hacker won second place in the technology sprint and was able to achieve third place in XCO. Sandra Pink, who started in the U17 class, took third place in the technology sprint and even finished second in XCO. Finn Mocker took part in the U13 class and landed in the 22nd place. A strong weekend for the team, even if the results in the older classes were less perfect.

But not only the young bikers showed their skills, the experienced athletes were also required on Sunday at Granit Marathon . This event offered an exciting racing series with various route variants from Light to Xtreme. The bike routes led through the picturesque Mühlviertel hilly landscape, shaped by river valleys and granite stone breaks. The marathon was well attended, which underlines the popularity of the event.

The marathon was concerned with the classic competition over 60 km with 2,000 meters of altitude. Gregor Ofner mastered the Classic route despite the challenging weather conditions and took 22nd place. The other participants of the Crazy Cross Biker team were also on different routes: Joachim Kolb finished after 2:53:54 hours and took 27th place in the H3 class, while Thomas Mörth won 11th place in the H3 class in 2:37:17 hours. Peter Pink, who was there in the H4 class, took 3:06:39 hours and reached 23rd place.

All in all, the weekend was a complete success for the Crazy Cross Biker and the great commitment of everyone involved made this event an experience that is certainly remembered. A great way to promote talent and to strengthen the community among cyclists!
