Students discover their passion for gastronomy in Feldbach!

In Southeast Styria, an exciting project ensures a fresh wind in the catering training. The "Gastrovibes" project, which appeals to students from the Feldbach and Bad Gleichenberg middle schools, gives young people the opportunity to experience the world of gastronomy and hotel beauty up close. The initiator is the hotel manager Michaela Muster, who launched the initiative three years ago. Since then, "Gastrovibes" has developed into a nationwide showcase project and is attracting more and more young interested parties to discover the diversity of the industry.

When visiting a professional taster day, the students have the opportunity to gain practical experience in tourism. This happens, for example, in the thermalty restaurant of the "Therme der Ruhe Bad Gleichenberg", where the student teams slip into the role of chefs and prepare a refined 3-course menu. Here you will learn how to use different cooking utensils and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of gastronomy. Educational and professional coordinator Tatjana Lipp emphasizes how important such practical experiences are for the professional orientation of young people.

gastronomy as a professional world

In the catering trade, everything revolves around the care and hosting guests. In addition to enjoyment, the training plays a central role because the industry is booming. Numerous vacancies for cooks, hotel experts and service staff make cooking and hosting a lucrative professional field. The practical exhibition of activities during an internship in gastronomy, which often serves as a springboard for a career in the hotel industry and gastronomy, shows young people the various facets of the profession. Among other things, you will learn how you are the contact for guests, take part in team meetings and support the breakfast and evening service.

These impressions are not only helpful to recognize your own skills, but also promote the discovery of potential talents. In this context, internships are a valuable opportunity that lead into many areas of the service sector, such as system catering, catering and personnel management. It also shows that well -trained specialists in the catering trade are required and international career opportunities can connect to their dream job, which is why practice -oriented training is very popular.

A look into the future

The large number of training opportunities offering the gastronomy and the tourism sector are very popular. From the flight attendant to tourism and leisure merchant, there are numerous ways to make personal career in the industry. Many apprenticeships enable young people to integrate their passion for travel and cultures into their everyday professional life. With well -founded training, all opportunities are open to combine travel and working in interesting places.

"Gastrovibes" shows that practical experiences are crucial for giving young people a realistic insight into the exciting world of gastronomy. Such initiatives not only promote talents, but also set the course for a future -oriented career in a dynamic and international environment. It is to be hoped that many young people take the step into this exciting professional field.
