Styrian projects triumph at the European State Prize 2025!
Wien, Österreich - On May 28, 2025, the European state prices were awarded in Vienna, a significant competition that distinguishes innovative projects from all over Austria. Minister Claudia Plakolm presented the awards to the winners and emphasized the importance of such projects that make European coexistence experiencing in everyday life. Out of a total of 89 projects submitted, 15 made it into the final round and were awarded for their outstanding ideas.
Among the happy winners there are two outstanding projects from Styria. The first is the "Holzwelt Murau", which was awarded in the "Europe in the community" category. In the "Explain Europe" category, the "Ewander Day", organized by "Europe Direct Styria", prevailed. The project has managed to bring over 3,000 students in Styria in Europe.

A special feature are the live integration from Brussels, which enable students to experience Europe directly. The support came from various institutions, including the Styria House and the constant representation of Austria in the EU.

In the "Europe in the community" category, the project "European tolerance talks" received recognition from Denk.Raum.Fresach. This project promotes exchange on topics such as tolerance, democracy and human rights and aims to develop the Carinthian community of Fresach into a dialogue forum.
Another excellent project in the category "Europe in Education" is the program of the Maria Regina high school, which offers a five -year curriculum with a clear focus on European topics. In addition, the “Club_eric” network was launched to continue to accompany alumni after the Matura and to promote its connection to Europe.
