Solidarity rolled in Leoben: 8,000 vehicles for children with cancer!

Last weekend, Leoben again turned into a paradise for engine lovers and music fans. The event "Iron Road for Children" (IRFC) in 2025 attracted around 8,000 vehicles and united thousands of visitors from all over Austria with bright summer weather. This event not only provided great entertainment, but also demonstrated its novelty: a record was set up in the number of participants in the US cars, bikes and vespas.

To promote the big goal of the event, the support of seriously ill children and their families, could be collected an impressive donation of almost 200,000 euros, specifically 195,077.35 euros. This exceeded the result of the last IRFC of 2023. Special thanks go to the numerous donors who have contributed significantly with their contributions, including Felix Scherübel, who was able to donate 5,000 euros for the therapy of Marlene, and the band Seiler and Speer, who also contributed a corresponding amount. Andy Bäuchl, one of the organizers, and Mike Reiter were committed to continuing the IRFC in the future.

a colorful program for everyone

The program started in the morning with impressive trips to the vehicles. The Vespa parade, which started at 11 a.m., led the colorful scooters through Trofaiach and Leoben, while the US cars went on an exit to chambers. The motorcyclists drove towards Eisenerz and ensured an unforgettable experience for all spectators. A tattoo area and a Vespa gallery were also part of the event, supplemented by a custom bike area.

The musical background was another highlight. Local and national acts such as Lucas Fendrich, Päm, Alexander Eder and Thorsteinn Einarsson provided the best entertainment on the Nova Rockstage. Thorsteinn Einarsson set the crowning glory of the festival at 9:50 p.m. and had the main square vibrated with its sounds. Another highlight was the "Iron Road to Nova Rock" days at the church square. Here young rock and metal bands were given the unique opportunity to show their talent and to secure a slot at the Nova Rock Festival 2026.

community and solidarity in focus

A special focus during the event was on the human side. The demonstration of Helge Plonner with the song "We Stehn Z’samm" showed how outstanding community and solidarity are promoted. The mood among the visitors was also splendid during the breaks and the organization was delighted with the great interest that lasted for three days.

For all those interested in motorsport, there was even the possibility to become part of this spectacle and current events on platforms such as Motortrackhub that offers an overview of motorsport events and numerous features.

The "Iron Road for Children" is and remains not only a vehicle show, but a shining example of how much good you can achieve when people come together to help and have fun. Leoben shows that in addition to engine sound and music, the heart can also count.
