Leibnitz, Österreich - On June first weekend in June 2025, the Großglockner Hoch Alpenstraße became the stage again for an extraordinary rade event. The Glocknerkönig attracted over 2,300 cycling enthusiasts from more than 30 nations. The participants, both amateurs and professionals, had the opportunity to measure themselves on two demanding routes: the ultra-distance of 28.9 kilometers with an impressive height difference of 1,815 meters and the Classic route of 27.3 kilometers with 1,672 meters of altitude.

At 7:00 a.m. it started, the streets were closed to all traffic until 10:30 a.m. The route led the cyclists to 2,571 meters or to the Fuscher Törl at 2,428 meters. Increases between 10 and 12 percent presented the participants with great challenges, both physically and mentally.

The association running Leibnitz was also represented with two athletes. Robert Marbler and Michael Zweidik test their skills on the Ultra distance. Marbler took a solid 141st place in the Master Class (Ü50), while Zweidik reached the 155th place in the general class.
