Family day in Wagna: play, fun and culture for young and old!

in the Leibnitz region, where cultural life blooms, exciting events are just around the corner. The popular family day will take place in the Römerdorf Wagna on Saturday, June 14th. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., young and old are invited to enjoy the numerous attractions. A picnic, a lucky port, various movement stations, a reading day and a appearance of the Kasperl wave to visitors. The flea market feeling is also taken care of. If the weather does not play along, the organizers move to the multi-purpose hall Wagna, where the activities are also offered, as meinbezirk.at reports.

Another interesting initiative is the school project of the Volks- und Mittelschule Ehrenhausen. Under the guidance of work teacher Martin Wratschko, the students made ten seating sets from domestic jaws in just two mornings. The new furniture will significantly upgrade the school playground and ensure sufficient seating. Many thanks to Martina Frieser, the plant management of the Retznei cement plant, as well as Holcim, who have generously provided material. Projects such as this are part of a superordinate program that sets impulses for creative learning as part of the culturalization of schools, as is the [OEAD culture agency] (https://kulturvermittlung.at/de/kulturvermittlung-mit-manken/projekt databen-bieben-kunst-kulturvermittel-schulprojekt).

Experience and preserve art

The art is not neglected either-in St. Johann in the Saggautal, the exhibition "existence-in the present" by the artist Ildikó Kökény-Kovács from Budapest is shown. In the vaulted cellar of the Stelzl distillery, she presents fascinating watercolors that deal with the preservation of the old architecture. Art lovers can visit the show by August 30th and be inspired by the variety of topics that make an arch to the cultural background of the region.

Another highlight is the reopening of the PRONNEGG oil mill. After an eight -month construction period, visitors can look forward to a modern mill, which now to press the Styrian pumpkin seed oil G.G.A. is used. Here the craft is combined with regional cuisine, which arouses curiosity and appetite for this regional specialty.

cultural mediation and community

The cultural landscape of our region is also enriched by innovative programs such as the Berlin project fund Urbane Praxis, which promotes artistic and cultural projects in public spaces. The aim is to create a more solidarity urban society through art and culture and enable access. These projects promote dealing with the urban space and can be important for all art and cultural workers who want to contribute to the common cooperation, as explained on the website of the Kulturliche training Foundation

This shows everything how diverse the cultural life in the Leibnitz district is and that a lot is offered here. Whether at the family day, in the art space or with new gastronomic adventures - there is something for everyone here!
