Oldtimer and enjoyment: Weiz celebrates the large festival of the classics!

The anticipation is great, because on July 5, 2023 it is again the "full throttle for connoisseurs" in Weiz. The popular Weizzer Oldtimer enjoyment Classic Tour goes into its eighth round and promises an unforgettable experience for oldtimer-lovers and Culinary fans.

The route of the event extends over 300 kilometers and leads through the picturesque districts of Weiz and Hartberg-Fürstenfeld. The organizational team around Michael Wilhelm, Mario Kleinburger and Rene Müller has already invested around 700 voluntary work in perfect planning.

a festival for all senses

With around 95 vehicles, all of which are operated with petrol, the classic car tour is a real festival for the eyes. This variety ranges from classic vintage to rare rarities. The oldest participants are 84 years old, while the youngest passenger only counts for 15 years. Registration was alleged in October 2022, and the waiting list was stopped in November - a clear sign of the popularity of the event.

A special highlight awaits visitors on July 4, when the pre-event "chrome and enjoyment" is held at Weizer Hauptplatz. Around 50 classic cars can be admired between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., while the Caterer Bürgerkeller and Déjà-Vu from Marco Sacco spoil the guests with Styrian specialties.

a varied program

The schedule for July 5 is ambitious, in the spirit of the classic car rally. It starts at 9 a.m. at the Jufa Hotel in Weiz, and the first special test takes place at the Birkfeld main square at 10 a.m. In the afternoon, several pleasure stations are on the program, including the Birkfeld tennis hall and the main square Passail. From 6:30 p.m. the finish line is celebrated at the Predingerhof in Preding near Weiz.

The rally is also exciting for July 6th. The first classic car starts at 8:31 a.m. at Seat Harb in Weiz and from there it goes through the Puch middle school to the main square in Fürstenfeld, where a photo opo is available. Another highlight are the special tests of the Probensdorf/Ilztal volunteer fire brigade.

The organizers have been relying on climate neutrality since 2021 by compensating for the greenhouse gases of the event through various measures. This corresponds to the modern trend to pay attention to environmental awareness at events and shows that the enjoyment can also be designed sustainably.

In addition, there will be a fashion presentation of pupils from the Graz fashion school, which will take part in the stop in Fürstenfeld. This ensures a fresh wind and combines automotive elegance with fashionable sophistication.
