Stainz, Österreich - On June 7, 2025, a very special event will take place in the Staz outdoor pool: The Schilcherland syndicate celebrates its season final party. The talented U9, U10 and U11 players show their skills in a rousing football tournament. After the exciting encounters, the celebration is crowned with a highlight - an air mattress race in the water. Coordinator Johannes Vollmann and his committed coaching team are committed to optimally promoting the offspring in the region and designing the buildings in football for the kids unforgettable.

The Silcherland syndicate, which has been working successfully with the St. Josef, St. Stefan and Stainz clubs for over 20 years, convinces with their concept for the training of young players and trainers. So we look forward to a great party and many happy faces!

a new outdoor pool for Stainz

The outdoor pool itself is in an exciting process of change. The renovation of the popular swimming pool has been on the agenda of the municipal councils for ten years now. In autumn 2022, the decision was made not to simply renovate, but to build a completely new outdoor pool. This project will cost around 6 million euros, with the municipality receiving 3.6 million euros over a period of ten years as needs allocations.

A big step towards citizen participation took place in April 2023. At a meeting, residents who were able to contribute their ideas and wishes to the outdoor pool initiative and schools, which then included in the tender for an architectural competition. The Graz architect Florian Schober was able to prevail in this competition. The start of construction for the new outdoor pool is planned for spring 2024 and is realized on a spacious area of ​​10,000 square meters.

The plans for the outdoor pool

Numerous exciting facilities are planned for the new outdoor pool. This includes two modern sanitary facilities, elegant changing rooms and all -day gastronomy, which is also supposed to cater for local schools and kindergarten. The plan also provides for a large -scale park that not only contributes to an idyllic ambience, but also offers natural shading by trees. Additional trees are planted to further improve the recreation room.

But there will also be some innovations: in addition to a reduced swimming pool of 800 square meters, a large slide, a diving tower and five swimming tracks and a separate children's area are planned. Volleyball and basketball courts are strategically reorganized by residential buildings to take into account the needs of the residents.

Particularly gratifying for the Stainz population: In 2024 there will be half a price for the use of the Gamsbad, the family adventure pool in Ligist and the Aqua Fun adventure pool in Frauental, whereby the municipality takes over the other half of the admission price. Bath cards can be easily requested in the municipal office.

The participation of young people in such projects is also of central importance. You should have a say in the design of your living conditions and are actively involved in the process. This not only promotes social cohesion, but also the identification of young people with their community. Various initiatives show that there are still deficits in the implementation of participation processes that need to be overcome. Nevertheless, the clear focus on the needs of the young generation offers a lot of potential for the future.
