Schrottshammer celebrates 119 years of success in the beverage market!
Bad Aussee, Österreich - What moves the beverage landscape in the Stainach region? Today we take a look at the traditional history and the impressive development of the Schrottshammer company, which began 119 years ago as a small beer supplier and has blossomed into the largest beverage dealer in the area. The roots go back to 1898 when Josef Schrottshammer moved to Stainach and his wife moved to Gösser beer. Since then, the company has reached numerous milestones, including the construction of a modern logistics center and the expansion of the product range.
The company history is characterized by a number of remarkable events. After taking over the inn in 1901 and the establishment of the delivery of drinks with a team of horse, the company developed faster than many expected. In 1941 the son Heinz Schrottshammer took over and continued the tradition of the third Generation. Today the descendants are already active in the fourth generation and have further diversified the company. In addition to the beverage trade, Schrottshammer supplies around 1,200 customers with over 2,800 items that range from lemonade to beer to wine and champagne.
modern restructuring for a successful future
As part of its continuous growth, the Schrottshammer-Gesellschaft has recently invested in an extensive addition and renovation of the branches. This renovation measures, whose groundbreaking took place on March 18, 2016, aims to further strengthen the company for the future. The celebration for this conversion will take place in May. A modern logistics center, a warehouse for festival and event inventory as well as a new beverage shop and administrative area are planned. All of this was implemented by regional companies to support the local economy.- celebrations: open day on May 13th from 8:30 a.m.
- entertainment: Wurlitzer hits from ORF Radio Styria, peasant music band and "Die Siaßreither"
- beer action: Gösser Märzen for 14.90 euros, plus a 6-series free

The festivities reflect the company's connection to the region and tradition. In addition to the prominent drinks, the festival also brings a piece of domestic culture into the halls of the company.
variety and innovation on the beverage market
Over the years, the Schrottshammer product range has continuously expanded. In 1998 the Brau Union sales warehouse in Liezen took over and in 2001 the transfer of business to the fourth generation are milestones in the impressive history of the company. Since then, Schrottshammer has not only played a role in the regional scene, but also across the borders. The introduction of the first in -house product, the Wildkirsch liqueur, and the expansion of the offer for new beverage categories are impressive evidence of the company's innovative strength, which is still looking for new ways to assert itself on the market.
The Schrottshammer Getränke & Mehr GmbH is an example of how local companies adapt to the challenges of the market and do not forget their roots. On the way to the digital future, the company could also benefit from developments in online sales. In Germany, for example, the Craft Exchange platform, which supports small regional manufacturers, was able to grow significantly last year. This shows how important it is to establish new sales channels.
While Schrottshammer continues to focus on traditional values in Styria, the ability to adapt to change and try new things is a key factor for future success. It is this successful combination that makes the company so special and tastes good.
