Innovative Interreg project: Coworking on vacation starts in Lungau!

Tamsweg, Österreich - An exciting joint project recently caused a sensation in the Lungau. In cooperation with the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce, the District Office Tamsweg, Chiemgau Tourismus GmbH, Bad Reichenhall Tourismus und Stadtmarketing GmbH and the Leader Biosphere Lungau, the interreg project "Workation and Coworking" reports meinbezirk.at . The aim is to promote the possibilities of work and coworking on vacation and thereby take a new trend into account in the working world.

As part of the initiative, an excursion to Bad Reichenhall took place. This trip began in the modern premises of the Tamsweg Chamber of Commerce and led the participants to the impressive Alpine town hotels. The highlight of the excursion was a lunch snack that promoted the exchange between the participants, and specialist lectures and house tours were also on the program. Such activities are not only enriching, they also strengthen cooperation with Bavarian partners and bring a breath of fresh air to the regional tourism industry.

Strengthening cross -border cooperation

The Interreg A program plays an essential role in promoting cross-border cooperation in Europe and is part of European cohesion policy. [Interreg.de] (https://www.interreg.de/interreg2021/de/foerderung/wasist interrega/aktuellartikel/interrega.html) explains that it includes 73 programs for the funding period 2021-2027. The goal? To improve economic development and to increase the quality of life in border regions.

A central concern of Interreg is to reduce development differences between regions and to maintain cooperation. Germany is active in 13 cross -border programs. Local and regional partners, including public and private organizations, can benefit from the funding. Projects must include participants from at least two EU member states, which promotes the exchange and networking enormously.

EU framework conditions for Interreg

The Ordinance (EU) 2021/1059 contains special provisions for European territorial cooperation, such as EUR-LEX.EU. These regulations aim to support harmonious economic, social and territorial development within the EU and strengthen cooperation beyond national borders. Here is particularly important on the topic of CO2-reduced development and on social inclusion.

A total of around 6.7 million euros are available for Interreg A during the current funding period. These funds are not only intended for specific projects, but also for improving communication and advertising within the programs.

Thanks to such initiatives, not only the Lungau region, but also the entire European feeling of togetherness is strengthened. Who knows, maybe the idea of working on vacation will soon be a topic that appeals to many people, a common practice in the region! The endeavor between the countries shows that you pull together and pursue common goals, which is an advantage for the development of everyone involved.
