Lower Gamperlacke: A fishing paradise for families and adolescents!

The "Lower Gamper Lacquer" in Gamp, a picturesque water, has developed into a new contact point for fishing enthusiasts in the region. The Hallein fishing association, founded there, founded in 1962 and now with around 700 members one of the largest in the district capital, supervises the water with a lot of commitment. This was extensively renovated after the devastating flood damage in 2021 last year. "Together with the city and our members, we tackled the matter," sums up chairman Christian Watzal proudly.

The city of Hallein left the Gamperlacke to the Fish Breeding Association last year after it used to be used primarily for excursion boats. The area comprises proud seven hectares, which are now available under the motto "Fishing for everyone". Around 150 fishing cards have already been sold, and in the first season the anglers caught around 600 kg of fish.

a place for the whole family

A particularly important aspect for those responsible is the family friendliness of the new fishing area. "We want to address young people and families," explains Watzal. In this way, non -members can experience the pleasure of fishing thanks to cheap prices. For only 30 euros, members and for 35 euros guests can throw their fishing rod for a day and take up to four fish home. In addition, there is an attractive “summer ticket” for young people up to 16 years for 100 euros, which allows the catches of up to twenty fishing in July and August.

The people responsible for the association not only rely on leisure activities, but also on sustainability. The focus is on breeding domestic fish species such as brown trout and salt compartments. The quality of the fish is guaranteed by the non -profit organization of the association. "We breed the fish, let them relocate into a outdoor enclosure and then emerge - all of this requires a lot of time and dedication," explains Manfred Deutenhauser, fish breeding manager and deputy chairman of the association, who also works for the preservation of the ecosystem.

Visitors can also take part in tours through the rearing systems and learn how the different phases of fish breeding run. These include the extraction of eggs to the release, a process that takes between one year for commercial fish and up to three years for sustainable breeding. "It makes us great pleasure to preserve nature and its resources, and at the same time bring people closer to the joy of fishing," said Deutenhauser.

Overall, the positive response from members and guests testifies that the “Lower Gamperlacke” is now a popular place for relaxation and nature experience in Hallein. Special events and the community orientation make the Hallein fishing association an important part of local life.

So if you want to experience unique moments on the water, you should plan a trip to the "lower gamper paint" - here, where nature and community are in harmony. Further information can be obtained on the website of meinbezirk.at and Sn.at.
