Start in life: Voluntary social year at the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic!

Wels, Österreich - In Austria, young people between the ages of 18 and 25 are offered exciting opportunities to gain valuable experience-as part of a voluntary social year (FSJ) on Wels-Grieskirchen . Here you can gain a deep insight into the everyday life of a modern focus hospital. Nursing director Diana Mair emphasizes that the FSJ is an excellent way to not only learn the basics of health care, but also to experience human encounters and to develop the first professional perspectives.

An example of the commitment of young people is Theresa Salzmann. At the age of 19 she completed her FSJ in the Department of Neurology. But Theresa sees the FSJ not only as a bridging until studying, but also as an opportunity to do something meaningful. Their tasks include preparing beds, the support in diagnostics and supporting patients. The FSJ lasts between 10 and 11 months and the participants are fully insured.

financial support and advantages

A factor that is not too negligible are the financial advantages that the FSJ brings with it. The participants receive a monthly pocket money of 500 euros net, family allowance, meals and a free climatic for all of Austria. In addition, coaching and further education offers are provided that strengthen personal and social skills- a real profit for the participants.

The FSJ in the clinic comprises all aspects of everyday clinical life, also early and late services as well as weekend work. However, free -time compensation is what leaves young people a lot of space for their own entrepreneurial ideas and hobbies. Properties such as patience, team spirit and an interest in medical topics are required. And who knows, maybe you will also learn valuable lessons about the needs of needy people.

A look across the borders - FSJ abroad

not only in Germany, but also internationally there are opportunities for a FSJ. As the Federal Center for Voluntary Services abroad is often perceived as an excellent step towards personal development. It offers a variety of opportunities in social, cultural or ecological areas. Participation in preparatory and follow-up seminars is mandatory, and volunteers must usually be able to provide accommodation.

whether in Germany or abroad, the FSJ is a valuable opportunity for young people to show commitment and at the same time expand professional and personal skills. If you are interested in the FSJ at the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic, you can submit the application until the coming autumn at the email address sabina.stoettinger@klinikum-wegr.at
