Children in the Innviertel: With a hoe and heart for the green future!

Schärding, Österreich - In the Innviertel, the relationship between young people and nature is redesigned. The project "Ackern in the Innviertel" is an innovative initiative that promotes practical environmental education in eight educational institutions. Here children and adolescents not only learn to grow their own vegetables, but also learn where their food comes from. An important pillar of the project is the support from the Sparkasse Upper Austria, as well as the initiation by the social company Acker Austria as part of the LEADER funding, which is active in the Sauwald-Pramtal region and in the Oberinnviertel Mattigtal. [Tips.at reports that ...] (https://www.tips.at/nachrichten/schaerding/land-leute/686662-mit-hacke-und-kinder-in-innvierte-fuer-die future) The main goal is to sensitize young people to the topics of sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.

The second planting campaign recently took place at the Mittelschule Münzkirchen, where salad, radishes and carrots were set. Christoph Musik, the managing director of Acker Austria, emphasizes the importance of practical experience and emphasizes how important it is that children learn first -hand how significant dealing with nature is. Gerald Gutmayer, CEO of Sparkasse OÖ, sees this commitment as an investment in the future of our society.

diverse offers for a sustainable future

The support measures also include university honors such as "ecologically - environmental education and quality of life", which will start from October 2023. These part -time courses are aimed at teachers of all school levels and offer valuable knowledge of ecological and sustainable challenges. In addition, there are cooperation with ecological schools and projects that take care of air quality or waste management, for example.

The education sector in Austria thus relies on practical support and more awareness in schools for ecological topics. These engagements are not only important for the current generation, but also lay the foundation for a sustainable thinking and acting environment in the future. It can therefore be seen that in the Innviertel is "tackled" properly - not only in the proverbial sense, but also with regard to the training of the coming generations that should make our environment more conscious and sustainable.
