Economic impulses: Entrepreneurs: Inner-Talk illuminates Innviertel!

In Ried, an informative entrepreneur recently took place: Inner-Talk, organized by Sparkasse Ried-Haag and WKO Ried. This event was launched to support local entrepreneurs: inside with valuable economic impulses and experts: to support interior lectures. The atmosphere was characterized by a lively exchange and network options that allowed the participants to share ideas and information and to establish new contacts. Such a forum is indispensable in times of global economic upheavals to gain practical insights.

The meeting addressed, among other things, the current global economic developments and their influence on the Upper Austria region. Despite international challenges, the Innviertel was robust, with low unemployment and a high level of training. These positive characters were highlighted by WKO district officer Josef Heißbauer, who noted that Ried had fewer unemployed, more apprenticeships and less export dependency than other regions in Upper Austria.

optimism in challenging times

A focus of the evening was the analysis of Sparkassen-Finanz expert Uwe Kolar to capital markets and their fluctuations that are influenced by geopolitical events. He found pleasing trends like falling key interest rates and rising real wages. However, he pointed out that new US customs regulations could slow down the expected growth in the euro zone.

In the accompanying panel discussion, the participating optimism expressed optimism for the Innviertel economic region. Alveri CEO Ehsan Zadmard pointed out that many innovative companies in Upper Austria are often little known, which is due to a lack of visibility and capital supply. Despite the challenges, Europe with its infrastructure offers better opportunities for founders. Nevertheless, capital procurement remains a hurdle that has to be overcome. Sparkasse board member Christian Haid emphasized the important role of regional banks in this complex global environment.

The role of the hidden champions

A special focus of the discussion was the concept of the "Hidden Champions", which plays a central role in the economic development of small towns. Small cities are often confronted with socio-economic and demographic challenges, and entrepreneurial commitment in these regions can make a positive contribution to stabilization. In this regard, a research project by the Federal Institute for Building, Urban and Spatial Research (BBSR) carries out a comprehensive analysis in order to better understand the importance of these hidden champions for urban development.

Companies such as Ejot, Holmer and Kjellberg Finsterwalde show that large economic potential is also slumbering in smaller communities. These companies often have a long tradition and are committed beyond business for their community. They promote cultural and social projects and contribute significantly to the attractiveness of their locations in order to gain and maintain skilled workers. The project notes that every third Hidden Champion company is located in a small town with less than 20,000 inhabitants, which underlines the importance of such companies.

The knowledge about Hidden Champions illustrates that committed entrepreneurs can set the course for successful urban development. It is therefore recommended to build cooperative structures between business, administration and civil society in order to effectively use the potential in small cities.

Overall, the event impressively shows that the regional economy in Ried remains strong under the current conditions and that the exchange and networking among entrepreneurs: inside are a cornerstone for future growth. Let's stay confident and we tackle the challenges together!
