Together strong: Perg and neighboring cities shape the future!
Perg, Österreich - On June 6, 2025, a remarkable meeting took place in Perg, in which representatives from Mistelbach, Sankt Valentin and Perg came together to discuss questions of urban development. Mayor Anton Froschauer led his guests through the city and informed about the settlement of new companies, which is of great importance for economic renewal in the region. A central concern of this discussions was the revitalization of vacancies, such as the new building authority in the former Billa or the visual center Optik Kroboth, in which two buildings were connected to create new space.
Matthäus Wimmer presented the primary supply center Pebios in Gartenstraße during the meeting. He explained the development process of this project, which not only integrates medical facilities, but also apartments and offices. The members of the delegation emphasized the community performance and the commitment of the people in Perg, which contributed significantly to the development of these projects.
joint projects and regional cooperation
The discussion about regional cooperation emphasized the importance of inter -municipal networks. A remarkable project is the "Economic Park Perg", in which 25 out of 26 district municipalities are involved and which is geared towards the development of operating areas. Furthermore, five municipalities around Sankt Valentin have over 200 companies that work together on the marketing of the region. This clearly shows that you can work well in this region to use synergies and strengthen the local business.
Mayor Froschauer and his colleagues realized that the challenges of urban development are current and that innovative solutions are required. According to GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation), global urbanization is seen as an opportunity to create decent and environmentally friendly habitats. The aim is to promote regional development, equal opportunities and the use of local potential to ensure a sustainable future, as in the international agreements such as the Agenda 2030 and the Paris climate agreement.
sustainability in focus
Sustainable urban development is very important today. According to a study, over 50 % of the world's population already live in cities, and it should be up to 70 % by 2050. This brings challenges such as excessive traffic, air pollution and expensive living space. Measures of sustainable urban development aim to solve these ecological, economic and social problems. The creation of green areas and better building insulation are just a few of the measures mentioned that should also find a place in Perg.
It shows that the exchange of the cities of Mistelbach, Saint Valentin and Perg will develop many valuable approaches for a common and sustainable future. This type of cooperation could also serve as a model for other regions, in the implementation of projects that benefit both humans and the environment.
The meeting in Perg thus became an example of a successful dialogue that sets the course for innovative urban development. It remains to be hoped that the enthusiasm of the parties involved can not only make noticeable changes in this region, but far beyond.
