Pia Beinkofer-Edlinger: New impulses for Linz entrepreneurs!

In Linz there is a new fresh wind in women's economy: Pia Beinkofer-Edlinger was unanimously elected as the new district chairman of Ms. Linz-Stadt. The 34-year-old succeeds Lisa Sigl, who has been the state chair since April 2025. This appointment could be a real stroke of luck for the many entrepreneurs in the region. Beinkofer-Edlinger was previously deputy chair and knows the concerns of the entrepreneurs in Linz very well. She is supported by Christina Haller, who stays on the board, and by newcomer Samantha Stangl, managing director of Wolf Klima- und Heiztechnik GmbH.

With a clear focus on the needs of the Linz entrepreneurs, Beinkofer-Edlinger announces that it will expand practical support offers. There should also be a promotion of exchange among the entrepreneurs and a varied event program. The goal is more visibility and networking for women in business.

growth and opportunities for entrepreneurs

in Linz, the prerequisites for entrepreneurs are particularly good. Almost every second company in the city is now being managed by women, with over 5,200 operated, which represent the highest number in Upper Austria. This excellent development underlines the importance of start -ups and takeovers by women, such as Lisa Sigl, who is strong for the initiative.

In 2022, a total of 258 companies were founded in Upper Austria. Linz recorded the highest number of start -ups, a sign of entrepreneurial dynamics in the region. Samantha Stangl, who was awarded a WKOÖ anniversary for your family business this year, has been in the third generation since March 2022.

support at the national level

large initiatives also support women at the national level. The proportion of women in management positions is around 29 percent in Germany, and many programs aim to further increase the proportion of women in management levels. The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection promotes these efforts through various projects such as "women companies" or the initiative "Women in Medium-sized companies, crafts, start-ups and start-ups", which was launched in 2022.

An action plan that includes over 40 measures to improve the framework for independent women was presented in May 2023 and is intended to encourage more women to start business. Which are just further examples of a promising trend.

The future of women in the economy in Linz can therefore be viewed optimistically. With strong women like Pia Beinkofer-Edlinger at the top, the exchange and networking among entrepreneurs further strengthen, which forms the basis for a flourishing economy in the region.
