New communication board in the city park: Inclusion for everyone!

In the city park of Kirchdorf, there has recently been an interesting innovation: a new communication board that was designed especially for people with language impairments. The project was initiated by Maria Edlbauer, who, based on experience with her son, who was able to communicate with the help of such pictograms, developed a great interest in this topic. The implementation of the table was carried out by the working group "Life well", in cooperation with the Traunviertel integration office. This group, which emerged from the integration committee, is working on a comprehensive manual for integration and inclusion. Judith Oberdammer, the head of this working group, emphasizes how important the personal commitment of the community is in order to successfully implement such initiatives. Citizen participation plays a central role in this project; Ideas from the population were collected and treated in order to take into account the actual needs with regard to inclusive communication.
