Great success at the district savings run in Kirchdorf - all winners honored!

Kirchdorf an der Krems, Österreich - The district savings of the schools in the Kirchdorf city park was a real hit at the end of May. Over 15 schools from the Kirchdorf district took part in this traditional event. Organized by Sandra Eder, who welcomed numerous spectators, parents and grandparents, the day proved to be great success. The run, in which the youngest participants started early at 9 a.m. in cool weather, impressed not only by the number of participants, but also by the challenge of the route, which had around 15 meters of altitude per round.

Bernd Kaineder, sports teacher and part of the organization team, praised the performance of the students and the great commitment of the helpers. The Red Cross supported the participants and ensured that everyone was safely finished. The award ceremonies were a very special moment: all participants in elementary schools and middle schools proudly received their documents and trophies. An exciting additional highlight this year was new: the last placed were not punished, but were able to look forward to an ice voucher from the Thallinger confectionery in Windischgarsten.

Director Andreas Kaisereiner did not miss the opportunity to thank the sponsors. These include the Kirchdorfer Zementwerk, Schanda Mode, the Wartberg Theater Club, Eurospar Kirchdorf and Raiffeisenbank. The parent association Kirchdorf also contributed to the success of the event by providing muesli bars for the participants. A cake buffet ensured the sweet end, which was made possible by donating cakes from the college and the Thallinger confectionery.

A special thank you went to the Kirchdorf building yard and former employees who actively helped to carry out. "We can be proud of the largest school running event in the district," said Eva Weixlbaumer, who thanked all schools for participation and team at the Kirchdorf creative music middle school for their support. A total of 33 students from the Stiftsgymnasium took part in the run and had astonishing success. In the 2012 female year, Johanna Hofinger took first place, while Tabea Bruckner was also at the top of the Stockerl in the 2009 year. Men such as Emil Stadlbauer and Sebastian Furthner also showed remarkable achievements and also took front places in their age categories. The results testify to a strong performance, not least supported by a lively competition culture.

These events are not only a highlight in the school year, they also promote the sense of community and the cooperation among the students of different schools. Such competitions, including matters such as the student film competition "Aaand Action!" the foundation of every human being, promote creative talents and awareness of important topics such as environment and politics. The aim is to encourage students between the ages of 10 and 19 to deal with European fundamental rights.
