Windischgarsten, Österreich - The Baph Windischgarsten, located at the foot of the Kalvarienberg, celebrates a very special anniversary this year: 50 years. Home manager Markus Thallinger presents the vision of the house: It should develop into a hub for care and support that meets the needs of the residents. The view over the basin not only offers a picturesque backdrop, but also helps to create an atmosphere of security.

As part of the celebrations, a ceremony with invited guests will take place on June 6, 2025. In the afternoon, all employees, civil servants and interns are invited to an event that awaits “Old Boys” with artistic entertainment. The physical well -being is also well taken care of with grillhendl, coffee and cake.

The Baph Windischgarsten has continuously developed in recent years. The planned projects include the continuation of the “Community Nurses” project and the integration of a social counseling center into the home. Another innovative offer is "vital living", which enables residents to use life and care as required. Andrea Antensteiner, the management of the care and nursing service, highlights the advantages of this model.

In addition, there is a renovation of the BAP, which has already been approved by the board of the Kirchdorf Social Welfare Association. The next steps are planned in coordination with the state of Upper Austria. One of the biggest changes will be the reduction in constant places from 107 to a maximum of 80, but the day care places should be significantly expanded.

But the changes also bring about challenges. The residents' need for care has increased compared to earlier times, which brings a higher workload. The increased documentation obligations restrict the activities, such as handicrafts. Nevertheless, there is valuable support from volunteers who provide variety and community.

The Baph Windischgarsten was opened in 1975, on a property donated by Ms. Eva (Viva). In the following years, the house was modernized by an extension in 1991 and a comprehensive general renovation of the main building in 1995. Today, the residents enjoy generously designed common areas as well as a bright winter garden and a house chapel on the 3rd floor. The care of customs and rituals is also very important to ensure normality and security in everyday life. Around 100 employees take care of the well -being of the residents every day and are always looking for reinforcements for their team.

From the aspect of human dignity and a respectful, vivid actual activity of life in old age, the BAPH Windischgarsten has a lot to offer and will also play a central role in care and support in the region in the next few years.
