Markus Roth: New chairman of information and consulting with vision!
What is happening in Austria's economic landscape? A significant change has recently taken place in the area of information and consulting services. Markus Roth was unanimously elected as the new chairman of the federal division Information and Consulting (BSIC) in the Austria Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ). Roth succeeds Angelika Sery-Froschauer, who has successfully managed the BSIC in the past five years. There is certainly a lot of work in front of him!
With a clear focus on digital transformation, Roth is supported by two deputies: Johann Lackner from Burgenland and Sybille Regensberger from Tyrol. The BSIC represents around 150,000 companies from the knowledge -based service industry, including specialist associations such as management consultancy, IT and engineering offices.
A look at Markus Roth
Markus Roth is no stranger to the industry. He is not only the founder and managing director of the IT company Creative Bits in Gmunden, which specializes in digital solutions for the manufacturing industry, but also an experienced expert in digitization. He has been advising in various countries since 1998 and has used his knowledge of developments such as Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things and digital business models internationally. His language skills in German and English facilitate cooperation with partners in Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Switzerland.
Roth's commitment to the Chamber of Commerce has also been for many years. From 2010 to 2013 he was federal chairman of the young economy, and since 2014 he has been in the management consultancy, accounting and IT in Upper Austria. He will certainly be able to bring these experiences into his new role.
The challenges of the digital world
In times when digital transformation in business is becoming increasingly important, it is crucial to stay up to date. The Industry 4.0 platform, which is also of interest to the BSIC, promotes the development of open digital ecosystems and supports companies in using the opportunities of digitization. Sovereignty and data protection are basic pillars that enable companies to compete fairly and make independent decisions. Innovative technologies that are subsumed under the terms "digital twins" and "material pass" are key for sustainable and resource -friendly industry.
Responsible corporate management is part of the overall picture: The Task Force sustainability of the Industry 4.0 platform is working to record and indicate the contribution of digitization to ecological sustainability. Rapid digitization could significantly contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and is therefore a valuable step for the future.
Markus Roth's vision for the future of the BSIC will surely be shaped by its extensive expertise and his service spirit. It will be interesting to see which impulses he will put and how he can advance the industry in digital transformation. Austria's economy is well advised to have such an experienced and committed man at the top.
