Freistädter Sprinter shine: 19 medals at Upper Austria championships!

The Upper Austria Athletics Championships of the U18 and U23 in Linz brought great success for the athletes from the Freistadt district. The TGW decathlon Union was able to achieve a total of 19 medals, which impressively demonstrated the excellent form of athletes. In particular, the team showed that this was not an ordinary weekend, but a real show run of the talent.

in the U18 championships, Simon Gusenbauer was able to shine with outstanding performances. He secured three gold medals - in the long jump, over 400 meters hurdles and in the 4 x 100 meter relay. But he was not the only one who triumphed: Nico Hollaus also won two gold medals, which he earned over 400 meters and in the 4 x 100 meter relay. Valentina Rudorfer was also not neglected and was able to win gold medal in the pole vault. Emma Scherb followed up in the discipline over 1500 meters with her gold award and thus completed the excellent record of the U18 athletes.

successful U23 athletes

The U23 championships were also characterized by strong performance. Marco Bergsmann swung up in the high jump to the gold medal, while Samuel Lengauer and his team also won gold in the 4 x 100 meter season. Particularly noteworthy is Julius Rudorfer, who booked three gold medals for himself - 400 meters hurdles, triple jump and the 4 x 100 meter relay in the disciplines. Niklas Scherb proudly contributed another gold medal over 1500 meters. In addition, Julius Rudorfer undercut the limit for the U20 EM over 400 meters hurdles.

The success of the Freistädter are not only a reason for joy for the athletes, but also show the outstanding youth work of the TGW decathlon Union. However, these services are no coincidence, because the association recently also won the Austrian Championships of the Associations in Klagenfurt. This indicates that the performance of the Freistädter athletes is both individually and as a team at a very high level.

expanded perspectives and raw talents

Curiously, a multi -line at young athletes from other parts of the country achieved personal best performances, such as the national championships for the U16 and U20 in Vienna, which were divided into three days and several events. A large number of medals were awarded here. Among other things, Nina Mayrhofer from SVS icing athletics achieved the qualification for the 100m final of the U20 with 11.97 seconds, while Anjali Perera in the 80m hurdles of the U16 set up a personal best with 11.94 seconds ( Ölev.at ).

Overall, it can be seen that there is a lot of potential in the domestic athletics scene and that talented athletes grow at both regional and national levels who have what it takes to shape Austrian athletics decisively in the coming years. The achievements at these championships are the best proof of this. Here it becomes clear that the station wagon from training, talent and a strong team leads to great success. The future of Austrian sport looks promising.

for the athletes from Freistadt and beyond it remains exciting how these talents will develop in the course of the further competitions and championships. It can only be hoped that this momentum can be maintained and maybe one or the other athlete will represent Austrian athletics on an international parquet in the near future. 3
