In an unforgettable experience, the Pfreimd fruit and horticultural association traveled from May 30 to June 2, 2025 to the picturesque Salzkammergut. The annual excursion led the members to significant sights and impressive natural landscapes in this Austrian region. Among other things, they visited the Ferdinand Porsche experience world in Mattsee, which recognizes the automotive pioneer not only as an important inventor, but as a varied innovator. The world of experience offers a variety of exhibits, including historical aircraft, sports cars and a unique collection of Austro-Daimler vehicles.

On the first day, the members of the association enjoyed the idyllic backdrop of Lake Mondsee before continuing to the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl on Monday. This villa, once the residence of Emperor Franz Joseph I and his wife Elisabeth, offers a deep insight into the history of the Austrian monarchy.

The driveway with the cog railway to the Schafberg represented another highlight, from where the participants could enjoy an impressive view of the surrounding lake landscape. The afternoon was spent relaxed at Lake Wolfgang, one of the most famous lakes in the region.

On Tuesday, the group explored the historic old town of Salzburg. There the participants experienced that the city is known not only for its magnificent buildings, but also for their rich coffee house culture. Time at the free time made it possible for the members to visit the special cafes and classic confectioners from Salzburg.

Wednesday was marked by a criminal offense to Hallstatt, where the members visited the salt stains. With the inclined train they reached the impressive caves and enjoyed a spectacular view of Lake Hallstätter. The visit was supplemented by a boat trip that conveyed interesting information about the region.

On Thursday, a sweet experience in the chocolate factory “fruit and senses” was waiting for the participants. This facility presented the artistic production of noble chocolates and also offered tips on your own gardening in the Bergmoser adventure nursery. The excursion was rounded off by a visit to the Steyrhof open -air museum, which offers an insight into the rural lifestyle.

The return took place in the Röhrbräu in Eisbrunn, where the participants reflected on their experiences with a sociable get -together. The Salzkammergut, with its breathtaking landscapes and cultural treasures, has once again been confirmed as an ideal goal for clubs and group trips.
