Bad Ischl, Österreich - On June 5, 2025, an interesting specialist event with the educational scientist Univ.-Prof. Dr. Georg Hans Neuweg. Around 40 guests from various regional companies and networking partners took part in the event. Markus Litzlbauer, deputy state manager of the AMS Upper Austria, emphasized the importance of the topic for labor market policy. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Neuweg presented the development of the Austrian educational landscape in his lecture. He particularly emphasized that effective learning is all the more successful when it is anchored in practical action. This view met with great interest, because many people present agree that theory and practice have to go hand in hand, especially when it comes to promoting young people. Another central topic was the strength -oriented employment agency, as addressed by Leopold Tremmel, head of the AMS Gmunden. He made it clear that it is not only about qualifications, but also about taking individual skills into account.

The knowledge was gained that a close connection between educational content and the real world of work is of crucial importance for the professional success. In this context, the “WBA Extended” project, which has been running since July 1, 2023, would like to provide a promising development in the Validation area. The project team, led by Kurt Schmid and supported by Sabine Nowak and Sabine Tritscher Archhan, has set itself the goal of further developing the qualification profile for validation practitioners: further developing inside. Financing takes place by the European Social Fund Plus, which makes an important contribution to the creation of procedures and instruments to certify the qualification. The results of the predecessor project "WBA Digital" have already been documented in various publications and show the commitment that is placed in the development of new training standards.Overall, the specialist event in Gmunden illustrates that the exchange between education and the economy is essential for the future development of the labor market. The collaboration must be continuously promoted in order to prepare young talents as best as possible for the requirements of the real world of work.
