Nope with retirement crime experts: a legacy of security!

In Lower Austria, two experienced criminal officers say goodbye to their many years of service. Josef Deutsch and Erich Rosenbaum have carried out in the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Lower Austria for over four decades and informed significant criminal cases. Most recently, they were awarded the Lower Austrian Security Earnation Award in June. The farewell party, which took place with a high degree of recognition, was accompanied by State Police Director Franz Popp as well as his deputies Manfred Aichberger and Brigadier Stefan Pfandler. Kurier reports that ...

Josef Deutsch began his career on November 1, 1981 at the Federal Gazette and switched to the crime department in Lower Austria in 1983. From 2015 he worked as head of the robbery group and received great recognition when his team was named Austria's best criminalists in 2017. Particularly noteworthy is the uncovering of the "frog gang", which in Austria, Germany and Switzerland has committed numerous home invasions and even a robbery. This gang was sentenced to a total of 153 years in prison, which was an impressive success of the investigative work.

Contribution to the fight against crime

his colleague Erich Rosenbaum has also been with the Federal Gazette since 1984 and has been the chief fire investor of the LKA since 2011. Not only was he significantly involved in investigations into gas explosions and arson, but has also repeatedly pointed out the dangers of illegal and poorly produced fireworks. These firecrackers represent a significant danger, especially for young people, as he correctly emphasized.

Crime in Austria is an important topic that must also be considered beyond national borders. For example, the educational rate for predatory crimes in Germany is around 60%, which shows that the authorities' powers and cooperation must be called in order to counteract the increasing number of crime cases. According to Statista there were over 38,000 predatory crimes in Germany, including 29 predatory murders, and the tendency continues to point.

security situation in Austria

A look across the borders shows that the topic of robberies in southern Germany is also up to date. In connection with a predatory murder in Seefeld in the Starnberg district, the main perpetrators were sentenced to life in prison. The attack that a pensioner couple met ended tragically when the husband died in the course of the attack. The perpetrators, all from Romania, systematically targeted older and weak people. Also Süddeutsche reports of these frightening incidents.

These developments illustrate how important the work of criminal officers such as German and Rosenbaum is. The security situation remains a central challenge, which is also complicated by international crime and changing tactics of the perpetrators. It is to be hoped that the two will now retire well and continue to pursue the upcoming events carefully in order to bring their expertise in the security discussion.
