New ÖAMTC base opened in Melk: Sustainability in focus!
Hobelstraße 1, 3390 Melk, Österreich - On June 6, 2025, a new ÖAMTC base was ceremoniously opened in Melk. This is described as modern and sustainable and replaces an over 28 -year -old location at Hobelstrasse 1. With a total area of around 1,000 square meters, the new facility offers space for numerous services and consultations that benefit the over 500,000 members of the ÖAMTC in Lower Austria. The new building is part of a comprehensive modernization offensive of the automotive club, which relies on sustainable construction and is supposed to bring a breath of fresh air to the previous structures, how OE24 reports.
The use of wood is particularly noteworthy as the main building material, because the entire supporting structure relies on sustainability and consists of 100 % wood. The energy supply is secured by an innovative brine/water heat pump system that uses depth probes, and a photovoltaic system is planned to contribute to self-sufficiency with energy. This makes the base not only a profit for employees, but also for the environment.
range of services and space for development
At the new location, 15 employees deal with a variety of offers, including club services, insurance service, breakdown help and technical test services. The conversion would like to meet the needs of the members, and the commitment is also reflected in the opening of a publicly accessible Epower charging station, which was set up in cooperation with Raiffeisen and Siemens.
With a strong focus on sustainability, the ÖAMTC will not only expand the service for its members, but also help to achieve a better CO2 balance. The quality of the services is supported by a modern, architectural standard. In Tulln, where the ÖAMTC is also planning a new base, the groundbreaking ceremony on June 14, 2024 was set. The new building will offer even more space for growing services with around 1,500 square meters. (ÖAMTC reports)
Both bases prove the strong membership growth of the ÖAMTC and the high demand for modern, ecological service locations. The mayor of Tulln, Peter Eisenschenk, emphasizes the importance of such investments for the region, and the anticipation for the new location in Tulln is also great, because there too is important on sustainable construction and the CO2 balance is anchored as an essential criterion in the planning.
For its members,ÖAMTC not only means security and support in breakdowns, but also the opportunity to find solutions in a modern, inviting ambience. The new bases in Melk and Tulln show that you have a good knack for the future at the ÖAMTC and take both the needs of the members and the protection of the environment seriously. reported)
