Music and enjoyment on two wheels: a festival in the Weinviertel!
Poysdorf, Österreich - The event "Music on the Bicycle" on June 7, 2025 was a complete success and brought together numerous music lovers and cyclists. Around the picturesque Parkareal Lednice-Valtice in southern Moravia and in the northeastern Weinviertel, 21 locations turned into stages for talented artists from Austria and the Czech Republic. The participants made their bicycles on the trip from concert to concert and enjoyed a varied mix of music, sporting activity and culinary delights.
A total of more than 20 music groups were represented, which presented a large number of genres, including classical, folklore, jazz, dixieland and folk music. Local wineries and restaurants were also from their best side and offered delicious dishes and refreshing drinks. The appearances in historical cities and towns such as Wilfersdorf, Eibethald, Poysdorf, Herrnbaumgarten and Schrattenberg were particularly worthwhile.

Hannes Steinacker, Managing Director of Weinviertel Tourismus GmbH, emphasized the cultural importance of this event. He emphasized how important cross -border communication between Austria and the Czech Republic is and that such events contribute to strengthening regional identity. Lower Austria's President of the Landtag Karl Wilfing also praised the event as a contribution to the cultural connection between the two countries.
"Music on the bike" was supported by the Interreg Kleinprojekt Funds Austria-Czech Republic (AT-CZ 2021-2027), which contributes to the further development of such cross-border projects. The success of this event can also be seen in the fact that the next issue for June 6, 2026 is already planned, which increases the anticipation for another unforgettable experience with music and cycling.
an event for all bike enthusiasts
The "Music on the Bicycle" initiative is part of the large number of popular bicycle events in Austria, which attract more and more recreational athletes. These events offer the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape on two wheels and enjoy culture. As the organizer Horst Watzl reports, the organizers expect around 500 participants for similar bike events in the region, of which a third could travel from abroad.
The combination of pleasure cycling and cultural highlights is a large attraction and contributes to regional development. In this context it becomes clear that the bicycle is not only a means of transportation, but also bridges between cultures.
The event on June 7th proved not only a festival of music, but also as a platform that promotes the exchange between neighboring countries and strengthens the sense of community.
