New ÖAMTC base in Melk: Future-oriented services and sustainability!

On June 6, 2025, the time had finally come: The ÖAMTC opened its new base in Melk, which replaces the location over 27 years old. Not far from the old ÖAMTC location at Hobelstraße 1, the new building with its approximately 1,000 square meters not only offers space, but also a future-oriented offer for the members. Particularly noteworthy is the newly installed ÖAMTC EPOWER speed ward, which is operated in partnership with Raiffeisen and Siemens and provides cheap green electricity. This charging station not only makes the location attractive for members, but also for everyone who is electrically on the road. The opening times are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The construction of the new base attaches great importance to environmental friendliness. The entire support structure was made of wood, a rebuilding raw material, and the heating and cooling are carried out by a brine/water heat pump system. In addition, a photovoltaic system is installed that provides sufficient energy for up to 14 single -family houses. The new base not only becomes functional, but also actively contributes to climate protection, which was particularly emphasized at the opening of Mayor Patrick Strobl.

The opening of the new base in Melk is part of a larger strategy of the ÖAMTC, which leads to an increasing number of members and strives in other regions, such as in Zwettl, similar new buildings.
