Missen-Berg, Deutschland - In Missen-Berg, the new Sankt-Nikolaus chapel was recently inaugurated. The bishop of Augsburg, Bertram Johannes Meier was personally on site to give the special occasion a dignified setting. He received support from Domvikar Pastor Ulrich Müller and Father Sojesh Perukilakkattu, head of the Stein parish community. With a bright blue sky, after several rainy days, the celebrations began under the sign of joy.
The chapel, an octagonal wooden structure with a shingle roof and a size of around 6 x 5 meters, was opened in early May this year and took shape through the private initiative by Franz Horn, the founder of the Sankt Nikolaus Brotherhood. "The project is an example of volunteering and shows what is possible in our community," emphasized Meier during his speech.

The inauguration festival began with festive firecrackers, followed by melodic alphorn sounds and the performance of a group of wind. A special highlight was the ringing of the chapel bell, which was sounded during the song "Great God, we praise you" for the first time. Bishop Meier blessed the ambo and the altar and handed over the chapel of her spiritual determination.
A pontifical fair was subsequently held, in which the chapel was officially entrusted to the municipality of Missen-Willham. In his speech, the bishop not only thanked Father Sojesh and Franz Horn, but also expressed his thanks to the support association as well as all clubs, donors and supporters who had participated in this project. "This chapel should become a place of encounter and faith," says Meier.insight into the life of Bishop Meier
