Benefit concert in Maria Laach: 7,000 euros collected for good purposes!

Abteikirche Maria Laach, 56653 Maria Laach, Deutschland - Last Saturday, June 7, 2025, an important event of the lions clubs laacher See took place in the impressive Abbey Church Maria Laach. As part of a benefit concert, which already had its roots in November 2024, an impressive amount of donations of 7,000 euros was handed over. The event was all about the support of non -profit projects and the promotion of a positive social influence.

The recipients of the generous donations are diverse and reflect different concerns. The Project Wings in Koblenz, which is committed to the production of biocal from invasive water hyacinths in Indonesia, has the proud sum of 3,500 euros. This project not only focuses on climate protection, but also on improving sustainable land management and harvests. A great initiative for the environment and the local people! diverse aid projects

But not only the environment is important to the organizers. The Association for the care of blind and visually impaired children e.V. in Neuwied also received 1,500 euros to buy a new play equipment for the state school for blind and visually impaired people. This is intended to enrich the leisure activities of the affected children and give them more opportunities for physical activity.

The third donation recipient, Father Philipp Meyer OSB, received 2,000 euros to support his valuable work with the Cappella lacensis . This choir regularly designs the Lions Club benefit concerts and thus contributes to the cultural landscape of the region.

an unforgettable experience

The choir members performed at the event and presented an impressive work by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Lions Club, whose motto is "We Serve", demonstrated not only the musical contribution to the fundraising campaign, but also the positive influence that such benefit concerts can have on the community. Here it becomes clear once again how music and humanitarian commitment can go hand in hand.

Another remarkable project that should be mentioned in this context is the voluntary service in Indonesia. Indonesia, a country from around 17,500 islands, is a popular destination for volunteering. Here, helpers can get involved in numerous projects that range from wildlife protection to English lessons to health and educational projects. Particularly noteworthy are the possibilities for the protection of orangutans and sea turtles, which are constantly required by a high biological diversity and wealth of nature. In these projects, exciting experiences can be combined with the important goal of sustainably improving the environment and living conditions of the local people. Further information on these volunteer projects is available on Volunteerworld .

The combination of local commitment and international voluntary service impressively shows how interconnected concerns can be treated in the global context and asks us all to become active. Let us inspire these examples and we work together on a better future.
