Haitzendorf sweeps away Wieselburg and stays in the title race!

In an exciting duel of the 29th round of the 2nd Landesliga West, SV Haitzendorf was able to defeat SC Wieselburg 2-0 on May 29, 2025. This victory strengthens Haitzendorf's chances in the title race, while Wieselburg missed the opportunity to secure the championship title prematurely. With around 1100 spectators in the TTI-Arena, the mood among the fans was exuberant and full of expectation.

The game began with an offensive approach on the part of Haitzendorf, which was able to get a shot to the crossbar in the 9th minute. In the 41st minute it was finally Michael Grünberger who set the first signs of dominance with his goal to 1-0 for Haitzendorf. After the first 45 minutes ended without further goals, Wieselburg pushed for equalization in the second half and came to a good opportunity again in the 66th minute through a header from Kurt Stark, which ended again on the crossbar.

In the final phase, visitors from Wieselburg put everything on one card to achieve the equalization. However, the defensive from Haitzendorf remained stable and did not allow any other goals. In added time, more precisely in the 93rd minute, Florian Schuh made 2-0 for the final decision. This late hit left no doubt.

The game was also shaped by some yellow cards. Talir von Wieselburg was punished for unsportsiness in the 38th minute, followed by Lehotsky and Polland, who received a card for fouls in the second 45 minutes. The referee Alexander Strauch confidently directed the match and contributed to a fair course.
