Insolvency shock: Traditional emperors in Wolfsberg are fighting for the rescue!

On Tuesday, June 3, there was a sad news for the local trade landscape in Wolfsberg: The Alpine Vergurgerverband (AKV) announced the opening of insolvency proceedings on the assets of "traditional emperors", a traditional provider of traditional costume fashion. The owner Margit Leaseu faces a major challenge, because the causes of bankruptcy are complex and range from miscalculations to the elimination of a second business to lower sales revenues and the aftermath of the Corona period. According to today concern the bankruptcy five employees and a total of 21 creditors.

The company's liabilities amount to around 460,000 euros, while the assets are only around 250,000 euros. The bankruptcy procedure, which was opened at the Klagenfurt regional court, takes place without self -administration. However, Margit Leaseu plans to continue business and has submitted a renovation plan that provides for a repayment of 20 percent within 24 months. This type of procedure is intended to enable the creditors to participate in a fair compensation, while the company is given the chance to reorganize.

renovation process and deadlines

The deadline in which creditors can register their claims ends on June 30, 2025. The insolvency administrator Christian Thon, an experienced lawyer from Wolfsberg, will lead the procedure. The first creditor meeting is already on July 14, 2025. Especially in such situations it shows how important transparent communication and well -founded planning are in order to protect the interests of everyone involved. The renovation plan day statute takes place on August 4, 2025 at the Klagenfurt regional court and could be decisive for the future of the company.

Current insolvency numbers

While uncertainty increases in Wolfsberg, bankruptcies are also an important topic in other parts of Europe. According to Statista, there were around 17,814 company insolvencies in Germany alone in 2023. This number shows an increase compared to the previous year and suggests that the economic situation in this country is also becoming increasingly challenging. Despite the desperate situation, there are examples like Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof GmbH, which thanks to a new investor was able to save many jobs.

The current developments in the case of "traditional costumes" are another sign of the challenges that retailers face in the current economic situation. Despite all measures, it remains to be seen whether and how the company can ultimately find out from this difficult situation.
