Pustritz, Österreich - The fire brigade Pustritz impressively proven itself on May 31, 2025 at the district performance competition in the Pustritz sports hall and won two championship titles. A total of 35 competition groups from the Völkermarkt district area took part in this exciting event, organized by the fire brigade Pustritz and the district fire brigade command Völkermarkt. Deacon Josef Wetternig opened the event, where fought in various categories for victory.

The disciplines that put the skills of the firefighters to the test must be emphasized. Each participant was asked to demonstrate their speed and team game. The demanding team performance competitions were also carried out, in which the groups from active fire brigade members were randomly drawn, which caused additional tension. As Klick Kärnten , this was a decisive factor for the dynamics of the competition.

The results are more than convincing: In the Bronze A category, the fire brigade Klein St. Veit secured the title, while Rinkenberg fire brigade took second place. The Pustritz fire brigade shone in the Bronze B category and also won the gold medal in silver A. The team performance competition was also won by the fire brigade Pustritz.

These successes make the Pustritz fire brigade not only a worthy host, but also a strong representative at the upcoming state championship on June 28th in meetings on Lake Ossiacher. Here the best fire departments of the country will measure their forces and Pustritz goes into the competitions as the defending champion.

The high number of participants and the impressive services were also praised by district competition officer Stefan Brodnig, who thanked the supporters of the event. His deputy, Werner Opetnik, underlined the importance of cooperation and the good organization, to which the Red Cross has also made a valuable contribution.

The guests of honor included Mayor Ökr Josef Müller, Mayor Anton Napetschnig (Diex) and district police commander Klaus Innerwinkler. Müller was proud of the fire brigades and wished good luck for the upcoming challenges. Next year, Griffen will also be the venue for the state championships, which is a great opportunity for the region to present themselves.

The Pustritz fire brigade not only won titles, but also won heart and impressively demonstrated the good cooperation between the fire brigades. Thanks to everyone involved who contributed to this successful event! A good reason to look forward to the next competitions and at the same time to campaign for the security of the community.
