Career orientation up close: Teaching & Education on Air” in Völkermarkt!
Last Thursday the exciting event “Teaching & Education on Air” took place in Völkermarkt. This was a career orientation fair that was brought to life by the organizers AMS Carinthia, State of Carinthia, the Industrial Association (IV) and the Career and Educational Orientation Carinthia (BBOK). It was aimed primarily at young people who are looking for support in choosing a career and would like to find out about the numerous opportunities in their region.
The fair stretched across the main square of Völkermarkt and attracted numerous local companies and schools. Here, participants were able to talk directly to exhibitors and apprentices, which offered valuable insight into practical careers and training opportunities. The companies represented ranged from Kärntner Sparkasse to Mahle Filtersysteme Austria to XXXLutz and had a lot to offer.
Diverse offers and participants
The companies that presented their offerings at the trade fair included:
- Austrian Power Grid
- Billa
- CCL Label
- Kohlbach Energieanlagen
- Spar
- Swietelsky
- Wild Gruppe
The schools were also represented in large numbers, including the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium and the Goldbrunnhof Agricultural College. This provided the young people with an excellent opportunity to explore both vocational training and further education at school.
Advice offers for everyone
Another plus point of the event was the presence of advice and information centers such as AK Young and the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce, which gave valuable information and advice for choosing a career. Particularly today, direct contact with HR managers and trainees is important, as the employment agency also emphasizes. Here, young people can ask questions directly and make initial contacts that can be crucial for their professional future.
The “Teaching & Education on Air” trade fair was therefore a successful initiative that not only offered young people a stage to immerse themselves in the professional world, but also actively supported them in their decision-making. The event helps ensure that young people are informed about a wide range of apprenticeships and opportunities, which is extremely important at this crucial stage in their development.
If you are still unsure, you can always turn to parents or people you trust to plan the next steps towards your professional life together. Those interested can find further information about upcoming trade fairs for career and study selection at messen.de or the employment agency arbeitsagentur.de.
