LC Villach shines at championships: Personal best performances!
The Austrian Championships of the Associations, which took place on May 29, 2025 in the Leopold Wagner Arena in Klagenfurt, offered exciting competitions and personal best. The event was organized by the Klagenfurt Athletics Club (KLC), which was put on a strong field of participants this year.
The LC Villach competed with a women's and a men's team. The men ended with a solid 12th place, while the women's team took 14th place. Despite the challenges that the tournament brought with it, some athletes were able to show impressive achievements.

Jakub Zembaty, who achieved a personal best of 47.71 seconds over 400 meters, is particularly noteworthy - only six hundredths above the Carinthian record by Oliver Münzer. Sebastian Kofler also delivered a strong comeback, who took 5th place in the discipline 1,000 meters with a time of 2: 34.15 minutes. His club colleague Valentin Liebhard finished 6th (2: 34.44 minutes). Sebastian Graßl was able to skip 1.40 meters in the high jump and also reach a good 5.12 meters in the long jump. There were also remarkable achievements among women: Katarina Vukicevic set personal bests over 100 meters and 400 meters of hurdles, which indicates their steady progress. Melina Messlender, on the other hand, missed the limits for the Austrian championships in the high jump, triple jump and javelin throw only by a few centimeters.In addition, Alissa Liebhard and Julia Susiti contributed to the team result over the 1,000 meters, while Isabell Bestenbner strengthened the team over 100 meters. The highlights of the day show that the athletes of the LC Villach are strong in shape and have promising prospects for the upcoming competitions.
