KFV reform 2025/26: Subject three, more opportunities for talents!
Carinthia's football scene is faced with a change: With the introduction of a new league structure for the 2025/26 season, the Carinthian Football Association (KFV) will react to the regional requirements. President Martin Mutz is optimistic and explains that the plans for the upcoming championships in the Unterligen West, Mitte and East are already in the final phase. The precise classification of the teams will take place after the last round has been completed after the promoters and relegations have been determined. In the lower division, 44 teams are expected to be expected, which leads to a varied group division in order to take into account the regional conditions. For example, three clubs are made possible to form a combat team game community. Who would have thought that the collaboration would be so fertilized?
The reforms aim to not only increase league efficiency, but also to improve sporting quality. From the next season, changes in the first class and second class are also planned: The first class is reduced from four to three leagues, while the structure of the second class - with three or more leagues - is preserved. For many clubs, this could bring about both opportunities and challenges. Especially for the clubs that have to enter into a more intensive competition, the tightening could mean that you have to do more.
innovations and integration measures
In his endeavor to take into account the needs of the clubs, Mutz points out that there are always ideas and suggestions in the youth area. A demand for needs during the championship is intended to help grasp the wishes better. The PowerPlay control is newly introduced, which is used for the first time in the U9 to U12 teams. This also becomes the lessons in trainer training, fair play and the “Helping Hands” program. The committed team of the KFV sees it as important to also promote the integration of players with impairments. A separate presentation was installed for this.
A highlight will be the first KFV championship tournament for footballers with impairments on June 28, 2025 in Treibach. Here the KFV shows its best side by putting diversity and integration in the foreground. Working in women's football is also actively working: a women's Kleinfeldliga was founded to make it easier to get started, and for the girls, championships in the age groups U8, U10, U12 and U14 are advertised. Here the KFV is determined to further promote women's football in the country and offer the young talents a platform.
At the Carinthian League level, the clubs will have to put a U20+6 team in the future, which will play in their own challenge competition. An unconventional but necessary measure to make the football season more dynamic. In addition, more than six older players can be used in the Unterliga clubs, which entails an incredibly exciting mix and new strategies. However, the efforts to integrate must also extend to young talent: from autumn clubs in the Carinthian league have to put at least four young teams, in the lower division there are three. Those responsible reserve the exact sanctions for not compliance with these requirements.
The future league reforms show that the Carinthian Football Association is willing to adapt to the requirements and expectations of clubs, players and fans. In this way, Carinthian football could grow closer together and, above all, lay the basis for a lively, professional football community. The definition of the exact details remains to be seen, but the anticipation for the upcoming seasons is noticeable. On a gripping football year!
